Our organization seeks to create a transparent and merit-driven ecosystem that empowers high school students in their burgeoning pursuit of life science research.
Issue
STEM research is increasingly attractive for high schoolers, yet passionate students often find themselves lacking experience, methodologies, and tools. Mentors like professors are difficult to find, and the research process is slow.
Popular premium research organizations offer research guidance, but with high academic and economic prerequisites. These centralized networks also lack transparency and meaningful regulation, mentors often doing too little or too much work.
Solution
Blockchain DAOs are the perfect fit to ensure equality and transparency in this research ecosystem. Running on trust-based transactions and collaboration, SAIDAO promotes integrity and equal opportunity.
Various blockchain mechanisms like token airdrops or the transparent peer review ensure that students are treated equally and research is made accessible for all, leaving a visible social impact.
How our system works
SAI.DAO is divided into three main channels, each of which utilizes a core token called $SAI. Tokens are earned through meaningful contribution to the community: valuable feedback on a peer’s work, or actively participation in a progress peer review check. In the hands of mentors, $SAI can be used not only to organize community activities as an incentivizing currency, but also as an objective metric of their research guidance expertise and quality.

This channel is used for students who want to share and receive feedback on their research projects. Proposals, ideas, half-finished products; all are welcome. Users who provide feedback on such a post are rewarded with credit points; users who provide meaningful and valuable feedback can be rewarded by the original poster by the shiny gold coin of $SAI.

This channel is for students to pitch their semi-mature research projects to our mentors. In a sort of “bidding” market, mentors and pupils select each other, maximizing the frequency of perfect matches. Compatible pupils and mentors will decide on amount and direction of guidance required, and the corresponding fee.

The heart of SAI.DAO’s transparency. This channel provides the pupils with objective evaluations of the amount of guidance they received from their mentor. By offering $SAI rewards to mentors and highly qualified pupils, students can publicize their transactional records and guidance materials, receiving meaningful evaluation of the mentor’s contribution and guidance. This minimizes the possibility of mentors doing too much or too little work.
